REDDITCH is to get four new Community Support Officers (CSO) by the end of March.
The town already has two of the officers walking the streets.
The idea of CSOs has come in for criticism with claims it is policing on the cheap.
But town MP Jacqui Smith welcomed the move.
She said: "CSOs are able to collect evidence to support antisocial behaviour orders, to get dumped cars off our streets and to keep in touch with our local communities.
"Together with record numbers of police, CSOs will help continue the pressure on criminals and the antisocial."
