A WOMAN and a small boy who have allegedly carried out a distraction burglary are being hunted by police.
Evesham Police say the pair have been involved in one burglary and another two attempts at three neighbouring addresses in the town between 6pm and 7pm last Friday.
The boy, who is believed to be aged about eight, attempted to distract the occupant once they got in the house, while the woman was left unsupervised in another part of the house.
The woman is described as white and tall, with a brown ponytail and a round face.
She was wearing a long, dark anorak and beige trousers and carrying a black hold-all.
The boy is also white and was seen trying to remove window locks while inside the house.
He had basin-cut dark hair, an oval face and grey eyes. He was wearing a dark blue tracksuit with white stripes down the arms and legs.
They both had West Country accents.
Two of the incidents took place in Isbourne Cresent and the third was in Fairfield Road, where £100 was taken.
"Working as a team, the woman and boy have been successful in gaining access to three premises on various pretexts," said a police spokesman.
"Fortunately, only one theft has occurred.
"In the other two incidents the occupants became suspicious and asked them to leave.
"On each occasion the woman has talked to the victims about her son's interest in growing plants.
"As the boy is a common theme in all of her initial approaches, this may help to identify her and the child, both in relation to these offences and any further approaches that they make."
Anyone who has been approached by or seen the pair is asked to contact the police on 08457 444888.
