SOCIAL workers from across Worcestershire were presented with certificates by former Worcester Warriors winger Nick Baxter after passing their exams.
They were recognised for achieving their NVQ in Social Care at a graduation ceremony at St Andrew's House Hotel in Droitwich.
With some learners achieving their qualifications in as little as six weeks as opposed to the more usual six months, employers, trainers and learners were all delighted with the results.
"Flexibility was crucial to learner achievement," said Helena Baxter of VT Plus,
the company which carried out the training.
"Not only did the training reflect employer needs but it was also structured to allow for the needs of the individual learner.
"Many are highly competent but may not have undertaken any qualifications for some time and therefore could have been daunted by the prospect for formal assessment."
The pilot scheme, which was funded through the European Social Fund, took place at the learners' place of work.
As well as providing NVQ level 2 qualifications in care, the project also gave the learners the chance to brush up on their essential skills and take national tests in both numeracy and literacy.
