AN auditors' report on the West Mercia Police Authority has recommended that it makes public whether it met its own five-year targets on domestic burglary and violent and vehicle crime set in 1999.
The force is to hold a meeting of its audit committee on Tuesday, February 8, at 2pm at its headquarters at Hindlip Hall, where it will discuss the "Best Value" report.
Under Best Value, police authorities must, by law, be publicly scrutinised to see whether they are efficient and effective.
Auditor PricewaterhouseCoopers is to also assess how close the force has come to achieving the Government's "e-policing" target which stated that 100 per cent of police work should be available electronically.
It will also see whether arrangements have been put in place to investigate unusual financial transactions by staff.
The audit is expected to begin at the end of May, with the findings published in October.
