SKIPPER Jay Powell is the latest addition to Stourport Swifts FC's ever-lengthening injury list after damaging his ribs in the 3-1 defeat at Yate Town.
He lasted just two minutes of the second half before being replaced by Mark Atkinson.
The Bristol side began the match just four points adrift of leaders and neighbours Mangotsfield United and began the game at a lightning pace.
Just three minutes had gone when they opened the scoring, recent signing Darren Edwards and Matt Rawlins combining before former Worcester City midfielder Paul Chenoweth shot home. But Stourport rallied and were level on 17 minutes when Mark Crisp thumped a header against the bar and Andy Jones stabbed in the rebound.
There was little to choose between the sides but it was Yate who went in at the break with their noses in front when star man Edwards found the net with an excellent overhead kick. Atkinson and Richard Burgess went close to netting an equaliser but home keeper Tony Court kept them at bay.
And the result was put beyond doubt 10 minutes from time when Edwards climbed to head Mike Wyatt's cross beyond Swifts keeper Aaron O'Malley.
Swifts: O'Malley 5, M Jones 6, GREEN 8, A Jones 7, Powell 6 (Atkinson 47, 6), Webb 6, Willetts 5, Bragoli 7, Crisp 6, Burgess 6, Mason 7. Subs not used: Parker, Titterton.
