TABLE-TOPPING Tornadoes cruised to an easy victory over Untouchables in the Gilt Edge Short Mat Bowling League.
They completely controlled the first half and but for some damage limitation from the Untouchables skip, won have won by a greater margin than 18-3. Their own skip was in fine form as they won the second half 12-3.
Second placed Telly Tubbies lost their way in the first half against Just for Fun and went down 11-4. They played better in the second half and took a Hot Shot 6 on the last end to win 18-5.
Another team that took a Hot Shot was the Blakedown trio of Gisella Butcher, Patricia Clifford and Geoff Elwell in their first half 15-5 win against The Who. They went on to take the second half 13-2.
Brintons bounced back after their previous weekend's poor result by completely dominating the first half against Breakaways in a 20-2 victory. The second was tighter and they shaded it 6-5. One for the Road had a close first half battle with Invincibles, just taking the first half 6-5 when their skip drew shot with his last wood of the half. Invincibles came back strongly in the second and despite One for the Road taking the last three ends it went Invincibles way, 10-7.
The wheels came off fifth placed Crusaders this week when they played lowly Wribbenhall. The strugglers took the first half 10-4 and went on to take the second 10-5.
Stourport just had the edge over Aces 17-14 and Squirrel similarly over Chestnuts 17-12.
