AN investigation by the Standards Board of England into the alleged behaviour a councillor after a confrontation with the Mayor of Worcester's chauffeur is underway.
Councillor Paul Rencher was involved in a confrontation with chauffeur Steve Baker at Evesham Mayor's Ball in December.
He made an official complaint to the police after an incident, which occurred on the first floor landing in the Evesham Public Hall on Friday, December 3.
This week the police, on advice from the Crown Prosecution Service, announced that there are to be no charges brought against Mr Baker because of insufficient evidence.
But a complaint to the Standards Board, brought by the Faithful City Mayor, Coun Allah Ditta, against Mr Rencher, is to be investigated.
Spokeswoman for the Board, Rebecca Jones said: "There is an investigation underway into Paul Rencher after an allegation was made by a member of a different authority."
She said it related to two areas of the Code of Conduct: The alleged failure to treat others with respect, and bringing the office or authority into disrepute.
