ANDY Norman has been appointed as the inaugural county development manager for the Worcester-shire Football Association.
For the past four years, he has been football development officer for the Association, working alongside Julie Leroux, Girls and Women's Officer and administrator Julie Lymer.
With effect from April this year, Norman will be leading a new development team of two development officers and a full time administrator.
The role of development manager is to ensure that Football Assoc-iation initiatives are delivered in the county and development staff work together as a team to maximise football opportunities for the people involved in football in Worcester-shire.
Norman explained: "We will be putting a Football Facilities Strategy into effect, which means ensuring that any funding we can obtain from the Football Foun-dation and other organisations is used to improve facilities where they are most needed.
"The Football Foundation has provided party funding for projects costing some £3m in Worcestershire to date including a new state of the art artificial floodlit pitch at Pershore High School.
"Local Charter Standard Clubs such as Inkberrow Eagles and Pershore Town Juniors have also benefited hugely from having such a superb modern facility to train at."
