Evesham Utd Ladies 1,
Phoenix Hereford 4
UNITED'S run of poor form since the turn of the year continued as they crashed out of the Knockout Cup.
Goalkeeper Mandy Upton made a couple of fine saves in the opening quarter before her opposite number denied Lisa Tustin.
Phoenix took the lead after 35 minutes but Kayleigh Hateley almost supplied an instant response with a tremendous free-kick that flew narrowly over the bar.
A disastrous start to the second period took the game away from Evesham as Phoenix scored twice in a five-minute spell.
The hosts pulled a goal back 20 minutes from time when Joanne Norman found Lola Hughes whose surging run opened up the defence and her cross was converted by Tustin.
The visitors restored their three-goal advantage eight minutes later but only a last- ditch tackle prevented Tustin narrowing the deficit while Hateley and Hughes both came close to bringing United back into the match.
United visit Kidderminster Harriers Reserves on Sunday in the Wyvern Associates League Cup (2pm).
