I WOULD like to comment on the article in the January 20 issue of the Shuttle/Times & News regarding the new powers given to Wyre Forest Community Housing wardens. Although I welcome their presence and am sure they will make a difference, I would like to point out that they will not have the authority to issue fixed penalty notices.
Even the Community Support Officers employed by the police do not have these powers, although their counterparts in West Midlands Police do.
