IT WAS honours even as Stourport and Chaddesley Corbett drew 15-15 in their North Mids South Two local derby.
In an exciting encounter Stourport dominated possession and territory early on but were unable to turn it into points.
Chaddesley it was who opened the scoring on 20 minutes when Matt Helliwell's try was converted by Nick White to open up a 7-0 lead.
And the visitors extended their advantage moments later with another breakaway try from Helliwell directly under the posts. Although White missed the conversion it left shell-shocked Stourport trailing by 12 points.
The Walshes Meadow men feared they could be heading towards their seventh setback of the season.
But with 10 minutes of the first half remaining they clawed their way back into the game when Adam Wyton scored a well-deserved try to make it 12-5 at the break.
The teams were evenly matched after the break although Stourport's frustration grew when a try from hooker Richard Gough was ruled out by the referee and Chaddesley extended their lead to 15-5 through a White penalty.
But the home side's fighting spirit shone through as they staged a grandstand finish to claim a deserved share of the spoils.
Their revival began when Lee Philp side-stepped the Chaddesley defence, with the fly half converting his own try.
And with both teams tiring Stourport did enough to earn a last gaps penalty and with virtually the final kick of the game Philp secured a draw.
It was a reversal of the clash between the two rivals earlier in the season which finished 19-19 after Chaddesley equalised with the last kick of the game.
Centre Steve McDonald was the man-of-the-match for Stourport, who have a friendly away at Handworth on Saturday.
Stourport's reserve teams had an afternoon off last weekend but return to action at 2.15pm on Saturday.
The seconds are at home to University Worcester while the thirds travel to Handsworth for a friendly.
Chaddesley also have a break from league action with a friendly at Upton on Saturday.
Their seconds went down 32-19 at Spartans last weekend despite a hat-trick from Steve Brinton and two conversions from Ian Chambers.
They host Harborne on Saturday.
