THE problems of old age is being tackled in the latest leaflet, which looks at diseases of elderly cats.
Like humans, cats suffer from age-related illnesses, and as they are good at hiding signs of illness, owners need to be on the look-out for clues which signal a change in their pet's health.
Diseases of the Elderly Cat contains in-depth information which provides an understanding of common age-related ailments, and explanations of the treatments available.
Four major diseases covered in the leaflet are: hyperthyroidism, renal (kidney) disease, diabetes, and hypertension (high blood pressure).
The leaflet, written by Madeleine Neale BvetMed MRCVS is available free of charge from the charity's helpline, where donations are always appreciated.
