A BRIGHT young soprano who has performed throughout the UK and Italy is to sing with Wyre Forest Symphony Orchestra to raise cash for the victims of the Asian earthquake.
Caroline Lester is performing in the second concert of the orchestra's 30th anniversary season at St Mary's Church in Kidderminster on Monday, February 26.
The WFSO's marketing officer and violinist, Dr Elizabeth Lammie, said the group felt donating all the proceeds to the tsunami victims was an excellent way of celebrating their milestone anniversary.
"We have played in this large and very lovely church, which has the added bonus of plenty of easily accessible parking space, before," she said.
"We hope people will flock to hear the great Brahms Symphony No 1, preceded by Glinka's overture Russlan and Ludmilla, and a selection of arias, performed by Caroline Lester."
Previous work by Ms Lester, who as guest soloist, will be singing various Mozart arias at the WFSO concert, include performing for British Youth Opera and Vox Lirika, an organisation founded in Naples in 1998.
Future engagements include recitals in London and Mendelssohn's Magnificat, with the Adoramus Choir.
More information on the WFSO concert, which starts at 7.30pm, can be obtained by calling 01562 635916.
Tickets are on sale at Hunter's Tobacconists, Strings and St Mary's parish office, all in Kidderminster, and Bewdley Books. They can also be purchased on the door.
