POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a crash on the A44 between Bromyard and Bredenbury in which a driver sustained serious injuries and had to be cut free from the car.
The collision involved three vehicles - a black Volkswagen Passat Sport TDI Estate, a green Rover 220 saloon and a blue Volvo HGV lorry - and happened at about 5.50pm on Tuesday, February 1.
The black VW Passat was travelling behind the lorry towards Leominster when it was in collision with the green Rover travelling in the opposite direction.
The Rover driver had to be cut free from the wreckage and was taken to Hereford County Hospital with extensive leg injuries.
His condition has since deteriorated and he has been transferred to Staffordshire Royal Infirmary, where he remains in a serious condition.
The driver of the VW sustained minor injuries while the lorry driver escaped unhurt.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or any of the vehicles travelling along the A44 beforehand to contact PC Bob Conway at Hereford Police Station on 08457 444888.
