THE spotlight fell on Worcester in the latest edition of the antiques show Flog It! on BBC2.

Viewers this week saw items come under the hammer which had been collected and valued at a special event in the city's Guildhall last autumn.

The show, which has been described as a combination of the Antiques Roadshow and Bargain Hunt, has a team of experts to inspect antiques and collectables brought along by members of the public.

Some of the items went to an auction at the Malvern Salerooms to see just how much they would make.

On the show, expert David Barby was shocked to be presented with three clocks that dated back to the 18th Century - discovered in a skip by a Worcester man.

They were valued at the time at between £1,200 and £1,500 but viewers were left astounded when auctioneer Phillip Serrell finally finished the bidding at £3,500.
