A PHENOMENAL result, the like of which Berrow Village Hall has not seen before, at its giant jumble sale last Saturday. This was to raise funds for the Earthquake Appeal.
Congratulations to all the helpers and all who contributed to this remarkable event.
One must single out and mention Janet Charles for all her organising skills. Over many years, Janet has been at the helm with fundraising through jumble sales for so many charitable causes with wonderful financial success. Well done Janet. I know when you had been given the total for the afternoon's takings, you were overwhelmed. What a result - £817.50p. Over 80 raffle prizes were donated and generous money donations given.
This benefice has certainly worked hard since the earthquake to raise funds in any way possible and everyone, man, woman and child has been incredibly supportive.
Janet's jumble sale will be for the County Air Ambulance on Saturday, February 19. Once again, can we ask for your support for a unique rescue service that we often see busy in our area of the county in times of accident and emergency. Remember our support keeps the helicopters flying.
