MEMBERS of 1st Powick Brownies, plus parents, brothers and sisters, enjoyed their visit to Malvern Theatre to see the local production of the Snow Queen. A team of girls took part in the swimming sports in Lower Wick Pool, Worcester competing against ten other packs. The Brownies were Loran Powell, Hayley Brassington, Sarah Draper, Abbygayle Walford, Lauren Kerry and Jasmine Broadment. Results included a third in the backstroke, eight years and under. Thanks to Sarah Powell for taking the girls, who were a young team but did their best.

Members of Powick Guild enjoyed their Christmas party in December with a wonderful selection of Christmas fare on a bring and share basis. Games and quizzes completed the afternoon, ending with a gift from Santa's sack. The January meeting was a beetle drive, which caused lots of hilarity with strange drawings and confusion over moves. The winners were Edna White, Pam Glaze, Rita de Boer, with Molly Gwilliam winning the booby prize! Next Tuesday, February 8, the Plough and Harrow at Drakes Broughton is the venue for the Guild's lunch, meeting noon at Powick Parish Hall.

Powick Parish Ramblers next meet on Tuesday, February 15 at 10am at Callow End playing field. A four-mile walk along the river bank will be led by Pat Ash. For details ring (01905) 830094. The Ramblers' annual meal will be on Monday, February 28, at Thornbury House, 16 Avenue Road, Malvern. If you would like to join the meal, please ring Isabel Brant on (01905) 23853 for a menu and booking form to be returned by Friday, February 18.
