AFTER a 4-4 draw two weeks ago, there was always going to be plenty of action in this reverse Worcester Sunday League division two fixture, and so it proved.
CMB SPORTS 2, MALVERN RADAR 4
The only surprise was that there were only six goals as both teams had enough chances to at least double their tally.
CMB started well and took an early lead through Mark Bennett ,who tapped in Ewan Murray's cross. Adrian Pugh then stung Radar keeper Chris Ball's hand with a 25-yard thunderbolt and only a great saving tackle from James Curtis kept out Murray when it seemed he would score.
Radar finally got going and put in one of their best performances for many weeks. Tim Clark was causing problems to CMB down the right wing and his hard-hit cross was turned into his own net by the back-pedalling Mick Curatolo
Mark Brookes then put Radar 2-1 up with a nice shot from the edge of the area.
The second half was end to end and CMB almost scored following an almighty scramble with three consecutive efforts being somehow blocked on the line and a fine save by Ball kept out Alan Southwick's goalbound header.
Radar then took control of the game with the hard-working Lee Hooper breaking away to score and Tim Clark was left with an easy tap-in following a defensive mix-up.
Simon Gill did manage to pull a goal back for the home side and he really should have scored again, only to blaze over from eight yards.
Substitute Steve Harness had a couple of late chances for Radar only to see one effort clear the bar and the second easily saved by the keeper when perhaps he should have scored.
On Sunday Radar are hosts to top-of-the-league Droitwich Spa Reserves, meet at 9.45am Victoria Park.
