A LARGE quantity of cigarettes were stolen in an early morning raid on a Malvern garage.

Police are appealing for information after the break-in at Bicknell's Garage, Pickersleigh Road, on Tuesday (February 1) at about 2.55am.

The break-in triggered an alarm and a member of the public saw two men leaving the premises with a black bag.

They fled in a dark, possibly black, Land-Rover Discovery, driven by a third man, which was seen heading towards Barnards Green.

A police spokesman appealed for witnesses or anyone offered cigarettes - particularly Embassy, Lambert & Butler or Marlboro - from an unusual source.

Police are also linking the raid to the theft of £1,500 of women's clothing from Studio Studio in Abbey Road, Malvern, at about 1.55am the same morning.

Among the 150 items stolen were leading names such as Betty Berkley, Jerry Webber, Tuzzi, Dina Moda, Bianca and Gina B.

Police believe a similar getaway car was used.

n A car trailer worth £500 was stolen from a driveway in Pickersleigh Road, Malvern, between 9.50am and 4.30pm on Tuesday (February 1). The grey 'Tippa' was covered with a blue tarpaulin and had the registration R884 RHN.
