WE are fortunate enough to live on Malvern Common, where last year I identified and photographed more than 25 wildflowers, including the now copious common orchids, rapidly spreading southern marsh orchids and one isolated green winged orchid.
We have far ranging views up to the hills and over to the Cotswolds. All that was missing was water, so thank you Malvern Hills Conservators and Severn Trent for clearing what has at times been a small pond, a horrible thick muddy area, a flooded bog and more recently, just a dried-up overgrown area.
We now have a rapidly filling pond and we look forward to watching its development and see what nature provides.
