A CCTV camera is an option being considered to deter people from fly-tipping at a site that has for years been blighted by the problem.
The area outside the gates of Severn Trent Water sewage works on the B4082 Upton Snodsbury, near Worcester, has in the past seen everything from tyres to old fridge freezers dumped there. Currently there is a three-piece furniture suite at the site.
A spokesman for the water company said: "CCTV cameras are just one of a number of options we are considering at the moment to prevent this problem from happening again. We are concerned about fly-tipping. We don't want to see this continue."
She said the current rubbish at the site is due to be moved either today or tomorrow.
John Heath, of Frog Hall Lodge, Upton Snodsbury, took this picture and has in the past sent numerous photographs to the Worcester News highlighting the problem.
Mr Heath, who is also vice-chairman of Upton Snodsbury parish council, said: "A CCTV camera will deter people from fly-tipping.
"People are always saying `why don't they install CCTV cameras'. But the problem is that those who fly-tip might go somewhere else."
