CAMPAIGNERS fighting to save Droitwich's historic Lido are urging the public to attend a meeting on Thursday.
SALT - Save a Lido Today - has called a public meeting to show the public what its plans for the derelict Lido are.
Wychavon District Council's executive board rejected the plans at a meeting last week and is recommending the Lido be bulldozed.
But SALT is hoping to stir up enough public interest to persuade the full council to back the plans, when it meets on Tuesday, February 22.
Heritage
"The evening will be for everyone in Droitwich and beyond who does not want to see this piece of heritage lost," said SALT chairman Linda Watkins.
"This might be the last chance to meet SALT before the decision is taken on February 22.
"We are going to fight this to the last."
The meeting will be held at the Community Centre in Heritage Way from 7.30pm.
Members of the public are also urged to attend a meeting of the council's overview and scrutiny committee, which will be discussing the executive board's decision, to be held in the Community Centre on Wednesday, February 16 from 6.15pm.
