STOURPORT Swifts had a host of second-half chances to seal all three points but had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Corby Town in Southern League Division One (West).
Corby had a dream start after seven minutes as the Swifts defence failed to deal with the aftermath of a Zac Nedimovic shot.
Despite three or four chances to clear, Chris Caswell pounced on a Craig Webb mis-kick and prodded the ball home from close range.
Twice later in the first-half, Swifts 'keeper Aaron O'Malley saved well to deny the Corby goal-scorer and Stourport only really got into the game late in the period.
Firstly, an excellent tackle from Brett Darby denied Duncan Willets as he broke away and a magnificent Richard Lavin save foiled Danny Mason.
The second-half was a totally different story as Swifts attacked from the start and were rewarded in the 53rd minute.
Corby failed to clear a corner properly, Mason crossed and Webb fired home from 12 yards.
The home captain celebrated in style, finishing with a Klinsman style dive as he finally broke his scoring duck in his 97th appearance in a Swifts shirt.
Stourport attacked relentlessly after that boost but found away stopper Lavin in outstanding form and dogged defending also prevented them scoring.
Danny Bragoli saw a rasping long shot deflect wide and two late headers, which fell to Richard Burgess and Mark Atkinson, were Swifts' best opportunities but neither hit the target.
