THOUSANDS of Evening News Wishbands have made their way to schools across the county with pupils snapping them up.
Christopher Whitehead High School in St John's, Worcester ordered 1,000 bands for its students, raising a massive £1,500 for the tsunami appeal.
"They are selling really well," said the school's receptionist Julia Lewis. "By breaktime on the day we had the first batch all the Year 10s had bought one.
"They are all really keen to get involved in the campaign, plus the bands are cool to wear."
Orders have been flooding in for the Wishbands, which people can buy for £1.50 each and wear with pride.
The Evening News hopes to raise £22,500 from the sale for Unicef's relief fund.
The aquamarine wristbands are embossed with the words Tsunami - Funding a Future.
They are going on sale at schools and newsagents across the county as well as being available directly from the Evening News.
A host of celebrities, including Chris Tarrant, Eamonn Holmes and Radio 1 DJs JK and Joel have pledged their support to the campaign.
