IT'S a measure of the progress we've made recently that there was a huge air of disappointment in the dressing room after last night's draw with Bath City.
But we have to take the positives from the game and make sure we take the good things that we did down to Devon for a difficult match with Tiverton on Saturday.
Life is looking a lot brighter for City at the moment and the fact we're scoring goals is a big plus.
Eleven goals in three league games, prior to last night's game, tells its own story and gives us confidence that we can play any team in this division and get a result.
I've always maintained, even when we've been struggling, that when the real Worcester City turn up we are a match for anybody and I think we've shown that of late.
Perhaps the most pleasing aspect of Saturday's win against Welling was the fact we came from a goal behind to win. We started sloppily but what impressed me was the fact we turned the match around. That demonstrated to me that we really had the fight for it.
That is going to be crucial in the coming months in what is an incredibly tight league.
We can't expect it all our own way but we've shown that we can hustle with the best of them and that's encouraging.
There have been pluses all over the pitch from the emergence of Liam McDonald, the comeback of Jon Holloway and Adam Wilde back among the goals.
We also had Jai Stanley back in action at Bath for a further boost and now there's real competition for places which is what you need to keep players on their toes.
We've always said that how successful we are comes down to the players and at present they are producing the goods on the pitch.
Now we have to ensure that we hit form on a regular basis and cut out the blips that have plagued us this season.
After such an up and down campaign, there's not much point looking beyond one game at a time and I think that's a sensible approach.
We might be up in third but as we've seen in this league so far that can soon turn into sixth, eighth or ninth place on the turn of a couple of results.
On the positive side Liam is continuing to make his mark on the side and he's definitely got an eye for a pass as well as a goal as we saw at the weekend.
There will come a time when we might take him out to give him a rest because with young players they have to be nurtured. He was substituted last night because he's been nursing a slight hamstring problem but we are really pleased with the impact he's had.
Adam was also on the scoresheet on Saturday. He's come alive again and we want to see him maintain that. Teams are alert to his threat but even when they are paying him extra attention Adam's still got to make a contribution even when he's been bottled up.
