A 'FLAMENCO astro rock' band, which has two members from Bromsgrove, hopes to set the world alight with their 'big hooks, attitudes and sleaze'.
Gypsy Pistoleros (pictured above) release their first single at the end of February and Bromsgrovian band members Lee J, of Holly Road, Sidemoor, and Ian Walker, of Teeswater Close, Stoke Heath, are looking forward to it. The band has a deal with internet record label www.lckfmusic.com and they have been provisionally confirmed on the new band stage at Glastonbury this summer and an album, called Wild Beautiful and Damned, is set for release in early April by LCKF Music.
It will be licenced in Spain through Spanish record giant Alvispa.
Spokesman for the band, Ian MacDonald, is passionate about their music.
He said: "Their sound is gypsy flamenco in a head-on collision of low slung, low flying guitars, driving bass and drums.
"The songs spin madly, as in the best rock 'n' roll tradition with big hooks, attitude and sleaze, yet those flamenco breaks will get into your head and refuse to leave."
The first single, which is called Shotgun Kiss, is available as a free download to anyone from www.lckfmusic.com
