A 13-YEAR-OLD paperboy suffered a terrifying ordeal when he was grabbed by a raider who was believed to be carrying a gun.
The robber demanded to be taken to the manager of Dillons Newsagents in Winyates Centre.
The robbery took place on Monday at about 6.10am.
After he was taken to the shop, the robber demanded the manager hand over cash. He was carrying a bag which was believed to contain a gun.
He then ran out of the shop with the money.
He was described as white, of medium build and about 5ft 10ins tall.
He was wearing a black beanie hat, blue scarf, a black sports jacket and beige trousers which had two black stripes running down the legs. He was also carrying a blue rucksack.
The paperboy was taken to the Alexandra Hospital for a check up.
The two victims were very shaken by the incident but otherwise unhurt.
Officers are currently searching the area and a forensic examination will be carried out at the shop.
DI Steve Eccleston said: "I'd like to hear from anyone who was in the centre at about 6-6.15am as they may have seen this offender either before or after the incident.
"Some people may have been up and about either walking the dog or going to work and they may have seen someone running away from the centre or possibly getting into a vehicle."
Anyone with information can call DI Eccleston on 08457 444 888 or can Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
