STUDLEY'S Andy 'The Pieman' Smith was in the money at the weekend after securing his second Budweiser UK Open regional title.
And it means the 37-year-old is now the highest ranked player in the Professional Darts Corporation, his earnings so far this season taking him ahead of Phil 'The Power' Taylor.
Smith beat local boy Andy 'Rocky' Jenkins to become South West Open Champion at the event in Plymouth.
He swept aside Mark Thomson 5-3 in the quarter-final to set up a semi-final with Roland 'The Tripod' Scholten, reigning Budweiser UK Open champion.
In a thrilling contest, the game went to a sudden death decider and it was Smith who came out on top.
The first set of the final saw a real battle ensue with Smith battling back to take the deciding leg in 13 darts.
The next two sets were split but it was Smith who finished the stronger and he secured a 3-1 win thanks to a nail-biting 101 finish.
