FECKENHAM made it six straight wins at the weekend as they swept Thimblemill Rec aside 10-1 to reach the semi-finals of the Midland Combination Challenge Cup.

And manager Lee Adams is confident that his team can maintain their form and finish in the top six or seven at the end of the season.

Tom Harris and Ryan Field struck a brace apiece in the demolition of the Division One outfit but it was another two-goal hero who Adams praised.

"Steve Ferguson scored twice and helped us into a 6-1 lead inside 25 minutes," the Millers manager said. "He had been struggling with a knee injury so I took him off then with the job done."

Adams said he had warned his side not to take their Valley Stadium visitors lightly before the game only to see his team concede after just four minutes.

"I told them this was a potential banana skin and warned them about letting in an early goal and that's just what happened.

"Luckily for us, Steve Ferguson levelled just two minutes later and we then took control.

The Millers have drawn Southam United in the two-legged semi-final and Adams has his sights on going all the way to the final.

"If we win our games in hand we can go fourth or fifth and if we can finish the season with a cup win then it will have been a success," he added.

Feckenham travel to Coleshill Town on Saturday before making the trip to Coventry for a league game with Massey Ferguson on Tuesday.

And with Brian Powell back in contention after missing out on the cup game due to work commitments, Adams is confident of stretching their winning run.

"Coleshill beat us early in the season but we are a much better side now," he added.

l League rivals Barnt Green Spartak has made a seven day approach for striker Ryan Field.
