GIRLS at an Alvechurch school have been rewarded for their skills on the football field.
The u13s at Alvechurch Middle School have been crowned Worcestershire champions after battling through to the latter stages of the Coca-Cola English Schools Cup. They will now represent the county in the Midlands area finals of the competition.
The school was one of nine in the county to enter the girls competition with 10 schools fielding teams in the boys event.
St Bede's RC School in Redditch were beaten to county honours by the youngsters at Aston Fields, in Bromsgrove, but have still booked their place in the Midlands finals which will be played over the next two months.
