BADSEY United and Stud-ley Nags Head topped the goal charts last weekend when first round matches in the Stratford Alliance's Nursing Home Cup took centre stage.

Both sides found the net seven times without reply to ensure comfortable progress with Gary Townsend bagging a hat-trick in Badsey's win at Tysoe.

Tony Egan went one better with a four-timer at home to Welford, while not far behind in the team scoring exploits were FISSC, who six without reply to easily account for Badsey United's second string. Steve Titmus and Ben Gibson both netted twice.

Ilmington will have two teams in round two after the senior side won 3-0 at Bidford with Dan Hodgkins scoring twice and the Reserves def-eated Kenilworth by the odd goal in five.

Broadway gained a hard-fought 2-0 win over Division Two promotion hopefuls Cubbington thanks to goals from Richard Craig and Matt Sheridan, while Quinton also had two goals to spare when they overcame Dog and Pheasant 4-2. Chris Valentino netted twice for the winners.

Neil Lissaman was Sout-ham's hero scoring all three goals in his side's 3-2 defeat of Shipston.

A limited league programme saw Alcester Lions reinforce their second division title claims after a 5-2 defeat of Bodrum, while a double for Rich Foreman helped FISSC complete a good day for the Tiddington club with a 3-1 win over Littleton.

Red Alert had goals from Kevin Perkins and Adam Ballinger to thank for helping see off Blockley in the third division, while that section's knockout competition saw Tony Vernaschi net the only goal as Badsey Rangers Res-erves defeated their Bidford counterparts.
