EVESHAM Casuals cruised to another victory in the Worcester Cricket Board Indoor League after they easily overhauled Dumble-ton's score of 102-2.

Pete Boorman and Rob Church-man were in sparkling form as they eased to 54 off the opening half-a-dozen overs.

However, the introduction of Mark Smith into the attack helped apply the brakes and his second over saw just two runs conceded.

Jon Gregory gave fine support and Dumbleton never got to grips especially when Paul Jones came on and late on and the Casuals were left 103 for victory.

Pete Cross and Richard Steed quickly chipped 32 off the target off just 18 balls - a partnership only halted by Boorman's superb catch.

Steed then retired but Gregory and Steve Charlton lifted Eve-sham's reply to 80 off eight overs after which Jones joined Gregory to steer Casuals to a comfortable victory.

The night's other game saw Temple Grafton successfully chase 107 against St Benedict's to record their first victory in the league.

Powell and Shepherd gave the Bees a flying start with 15 off the opening over and a succession run-outs saw them slump to 39-3.

The bowlers then got amongst the wickets and, at 48-5, the Alcester side were in all kinds of trouble. However, last man Sara kept the score moving and sma-shed 28 off the last two overs to lift the total to a respectable 106.

Openers Powell and Holt then almost halved the target in the space of five overs but, when the latter retired, complacency set in and two quick wickets fell including that of Powell.

Scores: Dumbleton 102-2, Evesham Casuals 103-2; St Benedict's 106-6, Temple Grafton 107-2.
