VETERAN striker Delroy Brown saved midfielder Marvin Gorman's blushes as Spartak maintained their resurgent form on Saturday.

Brown scored the winner from the penalty spot, but only after Gorman had brought Ferguson back into the game when he scored an own goal.

Sean Burrell had opened the scoring in the 26th minute when he beat the goalkeeper with a low shot.

Spartak found themselves on level terms after Gorman's error, but Green hit back with gusto.

Gorman made up for his mistake by sending a dangerous ball into the box and Burrell won a penalty after he was pushed for a spot kick, which Brown converted.

Striker Karrol Hamber and defender Adrian Knox then had good chances to add to Barnt Green's lead.

Spartak go to struggling Boleshall Swifts on Saturday aiming to build an unbeaten run in the final third of the Midland Combination Premier Division (2.45pm kick off).

Manager GJ Singh said: "We're going into a crucial stage of the season and it's important we keep on getting some good results.

"Our form has been improving in the last few games and we can build on that if we can beat Bolehall."

Captain Zahoor Suliman is set to return after serving a five match suspension, while defender Lloyd Sewell has returned to fitness.

Singh said: "The way the team is playing there is no guarantee they'll come straight back in."

* Late goals from Kieran Holland and Chris Hanson handed Spartak a 4-2 victory over Pershore Town on February 1.

Simon Campbell opened the scoring, but Pershore hit back by going into a 2-1 lead.

Burrell equalised, before Holland hit the back of the net from a free-kick, while Hanson powered Hamber's cross past the goalkeeper.
