EVESHAM Under-9s travelled to Stratford last weekend to take part in a triangular tournament against the hosts and Silhillians.
The first game of seven minutes each way against Stratford saw the home side record a 5-0 success.
Stratford were the bigger team and took the lead early on with a couple of runaway tries.
Evesham always played as a strong team with fine runs from Mat Camp and Jack Witts, but tries narrowly eluded them. A few more missed tackles and Stratford scored again to secure victory.
The second match against the Solihull side was more evenly balanced.
Great tackles were made by Joe Beirns and Kie-ran Sherwood, while Ashley Charlton and Aaron Parks battled out in the centre of the field and were unlucky not to break through and score an equalising try.
A third game against Stratford ended 3-0 to the hosts despite the Evesham youngsters produced an outstanding defensive play.
Solid tackling by Alex Tarplee and staunch defending from Ian and Alex Stoddart were the highlights of another gallant display on a day when the losers were far from downhearted and ready for their next game.
