IT'S great to be back at Worcester City -- the reception I've had from supporters over the last few days has been brilliant.

Everything is whizzing by at the minute for me and maybe things will calm down now we've got through the first couple of games.

It was disappointing to lose my first Nat-ionwide North games to Southport and Gainsborough Trinity, especially after coming back from behind in both, but I cannot fault the lads for their effort.

I believe I've seen enough from those two games that we can get results in this league. We will get out of this bad run.

Once we get one good result, other good results will come.

However, what I do know is that we have to cut out the errors that are gifting teams goals. We are showing a few defensive frailties and we need to sort that out.

It's disappointing that as a team we are not defending well enough. It's something we will work hard on in training, to ensure we keep clean sheets.

My assistant Andy Morrison joins me this week and it will be his job to sort that out. But it's not just about the lads at the back, it's the whole team that has to defend better.

It will be no-nonsense from Andy. He will also bring composure to the defence because you need that and it's something we are lacking. We are a little bit nervy in our clearances and when we've got a little bit of time, we're just hacking at things. If there's a chance to bring the ball down and play, then we've got to do that.

Other than the defensive errors, there was not a lot in the game with Gainsborough. Danny McDonnell did not have any real saves to make, but they still scored two goals.

There were a few positives. We reacted well to conceding the first goal, which we also did against Southport, and the two lads Leon Kelly and Adam Webster did well.

Webby's finish on Saturday was tremendous and a superb run from Leon created the penalty on Monday. That should give them confidence and it's important the front lads are confident and scoring goals.

But we had to earn our goals while the goals we conceded were give-aways. For Gainsborough's first goal, one of the smallest lads on the pitch got a free header. And the second one, we failed to clear the ball, the striker gets a deflection and we end up losing the game.

We have to eradicate those mistakes because if we keep making them, teams will punish us. When you are struggling for results those goals go in, whether they scream into the top corner or get a deflection.

We should have come away from the game with at least a point out of it, but we didn't, so we will have to start again on Saturday at Alfreton Town.

We can't worry about what happened on Monday night, we have just got to learn from it. The quicker we learn, the sooner we'll get those results.
