CHEERS could be heard from a Worcester school as it received its batch of Evening News wishbands.
Pupils at Oldbury Park Primary School were delighted to join in our appeal to raise more than £22,500 for the victims of the Asian tsunami disaster, and have been snapping up the bands in their dozens.
"We ordered 400 and they have all sold out so we have ordered another 100," said Jackie Ludlow, headteacher at the school.
"The children are all wearing them every day and are glad to take part."
Schools across the county are ordering the wishbands by the box-full and pupils are jumping at the opportunity to help the appeal.
The aquamarine wishbands are also going on sale at newsagents across the county and are available direct from the Evening News for £1.50 each.
We are hoping as many people as possible will wear the bands as a sign of support for the victims, while the money raised will help rebuild the lives of the survivors.
