HISTORY-loving children at a Bromsgrove school stepped back in time with a workshop on the Great Fire of London.

Bob Sanderson, from Tempus Fugit Midlands Educational Theatre, dressed up as diarist Samuel Pepys to teach the year two youngsters at St Peter's Roman Catholic First School about the historic blaze, which destroyed much of the capital.

Michelle O'Donnell, a teacher at the Rock Hill school, said: "The children had the opportunity to dress up in traditional costumes and act out events from the story."
