GENEROUS readers of the Advertiser have helped to raise more than £4 million for St Richard's New Hospice Appeal.
Fundraisers at the hospice would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the Building Beds Together campaign so far.
However, they are also urging residents to dig a little deeper so the final £1.25 million can be raised.
The state-of-the-art unit will provide 15-much needed beds for Worcestershire people with life threatening illnesses. Hospice staff hope it will be up and running next year.
Marilyn Peachey, the hospice's director of fundraising, said: "We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has so generously donated to the new hospice appeal. Individuals, groups and businesses have all been answering our call for funds and are giving us unstinting support."
She later explained: "We will be able to offer a haven of care, peace and comfort to desperately ill patients and support to their families at a very difficult time. We know people have lots of demands on their finances but if everyone in the community gave just a small amount it would help us raise the final £1.25m and allow us to start building the new hospice within months."
Readers can either fill in the coupon on the right or make a donation in one of the St Richard's Hospice envelopes, which are soon to be delivered.
Alternatively, donations can be made at the St Richard's charity shop in Droitwich or over the phone by calling 01905 763963.
