Secretary Anne Bradford arrived at the meeting in full Egyptian regalia to entertain members with slides of her holiday, a cruise on the Nile to Aswan and back.
She flew to Luxor and boarded 'The Caprice'. She said the cabin was luxurious and the food was first class. At the end of each day, she returned to find that small animal shapes had been created from her towels and flannels, sometimes wearing her clothing!
The trip covered the Valley of the Kings, the Tombs of the Queens, the high dam at Aswan and Lake Nassar.
She also visited the temple of Abu Simbel, which was moved above the waterline in the 1960s when the dam was created.
Many of Anne's slides, particularly the sunsets, were quite breathtaking.
At one time she was so busy taking photographs she became separated from the main party and was lost.
