WEDNESDAY CLUB: Met at the Round of Gras, Badsey, for the annual dinner and AGM. Mrs Boath welcomed everyone and after the meal, the AGM was held. Minutes were read and agreed by Mrs Miller and Mr Hitch. Programmes for the meetings had been varied and entertaining and the outings to places of interest had been a success.
A few members were ill and during the year the club had lost a few friends but newcomers were helping to increase the membership. Mr Fletcher, solicitor for the Walker Memorial Fund spoke to the meeting and said how much he looked forward to his yearly invitation. The balance sheet was submitted by Mrs Olwen Humphries and showed the funds to be in a healthy state. Mrs Boath thanked her in her post as treasurer and also Wendy and Sylvia for their work in the kitchen.
Donations to various charities had been made including one to the tsunami disaster fund. Mrs Innes thanked Mrs Boath on behalf of the members for all her work during the year. The free raffle was organised by Mrs Humphries and Mrs Innes. Music for the entertainment was provided by Mr Goode and the afternoon ended with Auld Lang Syne.
