MARTIAL arts all-rounder Brian Smith is keeping it in the family by passing down his experience and expertise to his young daughters.
Smith recently started his 35th year in combat sports by gaining his Keysi Fighting Method black-belt and apprentice instructorship from two of the world's best martial artists.
And he is using his latest achievements, developed under the guidance of KFM founders Justo Dieguez and Andy Norman, to inspire his daughters.
KFM is a pioneering self-defence system combining disciplines including Thai boxing, Brazilian Ju-Jutsi and Kali.
Ten-year-old Becky takes her first grade in the KFM later this month, while seven-year-old Hannah is expected to follow suit soon.
The girls are already purple and orange belts respectively and Smith senior is expecting his daughters continue to progress in martial arts.
He said: "I've been delighted with what I've managed to achieve ove rthe years and it would be great if I can help them live up to their potential too."
Smith, who gained a black belt in Eskrima weapons under David Hand in 2003, has been training in combat sports from the age of six.
He started boxing, then judo, kung fu, and kickboxing fighting at national and world levels and gained a third Dan black belt in the art.
Anybody interested in taking up martial arts is welcome to attend Smith's Stourport UK Kickboxing club. For more details contact him on 07709432380.
