CHESTNUTS, who are having an in and out season in the Gilt Edge Short Mat Bowling League, scored their first Hot Shot 6 against Just for Fun.
They won the first half 10-6 then their trio of Joan Didlick, Muriel Atkins and Bobbie Baulk went on to take the second 13-8 including the 6. Blakedown also had a good result against One for the Road who were in the top five in the league.
They controlled the first half to win 10-7, then did exactly the same in the second, winning 10-5. After dropping all six points last week, Crusaders moved back into the top five by beating Breakaways 17-11.
It was a tight battle between third placed Invincibles and fourth placed Brintons. Invincibles took a three on the last end of the first half but were unable to stop it going Brintons way 9-7.
In the second, Invincibles looked in trouble again but picked up a five on the last end to win 13-9.
Stourport, who had been one of the high flyers, seem to be struggling slightly. This week they played Wribbenhall who for the third week running picked up maximum points by beating them 18-11.
Squirrel also had a good win taking the first half against Untouchables 9-6 and winning the last two ends of the game to take the second 8-5. Elsewhere, Telly Tubbies beat Aces 37-4 and Tornadoes beat The Who 29-6.
