CHADDESLEY Corbett's West Midlands League division two form took a turn for the worse when they were comprehensively beaten by 5-1 at home by Sporting Khalsa.
The visitors, spearheaded by the dangerous Nathan Glanville, were 3-0 up in twenty minutes with errors and a slice of bad luck contributing to the home side's poor start.
In form Duncan Palmer pulled a goal back for Chaddesley before another mistake proved costly as Sporting Khalsa opened up a 4-1 half-time lead.
Chaddesley regrouped for the second period and forwards Stuart Jordan and Steve Hinton both went close.
Despite the scoreline, the attitude and performance after the interval was was excellent and although Sporting scored a fifth goal late on, it was a much improved Corbett.
Chairman David Yardley said "The results are not going our way but I feel we are in a healthier position player wise than we have been all season.
"We have a young side, they are very keen and it looks as if we are having a regular squad turning up each week. For now we have to be patient and keep plugging away."
Chaddesley gave a debut to former Fairfield Villa midfielder James Dale, who along with 18-year-old Adam Knight, earned praise from boss Martin Westcott.
Westcott also praised the committed response of disappointed defender Matt Fludgate who was hauled off at half time.
" I told Matt I was leaving him out for the second half, he is a winner and was very angry with my decision," he said.
"That was exactly the response I wanted, in truth I could have brought off four other players."
"Matt will bounce back and we need players with his spirit."
They play host to Kington Town Reserves in the League Cup at 1.45pm on Saturday.
