PERSHORE Hockey Club's' good start to the year in Coaching Solutions West Midlands Division Two came to an abrupt end with a 1-0 home defeat to Kynoch.

Kynoch went ahead after 15 minutes, while Pershore wasted a number of good chances.

Despite having the vast majority of position in the second-half, Pershore, third in the league, continued to waste short corners and good positions.

In the end, Graeme Rushin's frustration, which culminated in a yellow card, summed up the match.

n The Seconds were unlucky to lose 2-1 at Kingswinford after hitting the woodwork on several occasions.

Pershore took the lead in the first minute with a fine goal from Anthony Handley but were soon pegged back by the hosts.

Both posts and the crossbar denied Pershore another goal before a late Kingswinford effort stole the points.

Pershore, though, were boosted by the return of James Hector and Andy Gould.

n Youngsters Chris Ridings and Luke Dalley were on target as the Thirds recorded a 2-1 home victory over Market Drayton.

Pershore opted for youth by playing Sam Howell, Dalley and Ridings up front and they rose to the challenge.

One of Howell's runs set up Ridings to score with a clever reverse flick under the goalkeeper.

An excellent passing movement involving Tom Handley, Iain Rushin and Neil Herman then allowed Ridings to set Dalley up for the second.

Market Drayton replied late on.
