ENTHUSIASTIC performers are being sought for new projects at Evesham Arts Centre.
Under the centre's latest revamp, it has formed its own Red Light Theatre Company and now more volunteers are being encouraged to join in with two new productions scheduled for later this year.
The first production combines two one-act farces, which to be performed at outdoor venues throughout the summer.
Then in autumn, the company plans to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot with a new play called Walking Shadow, about William Shakespeare writing Macbeth. This play is mainly set in Warwickshire and Worcestershire and will be performed at the arts centre.
"Both these productions offer exciting opportunities for local performers," said arts centre spokesman Lynn Davies. "A number of venues in Worcestershire are extremely keen to see outdoor theatre in the summer and we're keen to provide them with some first-class entertainment.
"Walking Shadow involves a great deal of local and historical interest and will be a fascinating project for anyone who wants to take part."
He said a wide range of actors was needed for both projects but they do not need experience. The Red Light company 'requires only enthusiasm and commitment', he said.
