LOVE grows, flowers wilt, according to countryside officers, who are urging folk to buy trees for Valentine Day gifts.
Instead of buying the usual gift of roses for that special someone that wilt after a few days the county's countryside service is offering another option - fruit trees. A range is available for sale at Pershore College that will grow stronger and last a lot longer.
Tanya Feasey, assistant countyside sites officer, said: "As well as being a little different from the usual chocolates and flowers, these trees really make a delightful present."
Each tree, costing £15, is 12 months old and grown on behalf of the Worcestershire County Council at the college's Avonbank Nursery. The offer lasts until February 28.
There are five varieties of apple trees, two varieties of pears and two varieties of plum trees available.
