AN electrician has been fined after being caught driving at more than 94mph in a 60mph zone near Bidford.
Gavin Salt, aged 31 from Leicestershire, admitted reaching the speed in his Citroen Dispatch on the A46 at Salford Priors.
Worcester Magistrates Court heard on Monday how Mr Salt was tracked for more than a mile by police who measured his average speed at 94.04mph.
"I didn't realise I was doing that speed at the time," explained Mr Salt, of Pits Avenue, Braunstone, Leicestershire, who was caught on Tuesday, December 14, last year.
In a letter read out to the court his employers said Mr Salt drove more than 30,000 miles every year in his company vehicle and his contract would not be renewed if he were disqualified. Magistrates chose not to disqualify Mr Salt but fined him £300 and issued six penalty points on his driving license. He was ordered to pay £35 towards costs.
