THE last remaining general store in Kempsey is up for sale.
Owners Ted and Sue Cullis plan to retire, after running the newsagent, off-licence and general store for the past 12 years.
"We sell just about everything, except hardware. We never got into that because the village already had a hardware store, although it has now closed down," said Mrs Cullis.
"We want to sell the shop as a going concern, not least because we are going to stay in Kempsey and we want a village shop as well."
Kempsey, which also has a post office, previously had a butcher, baker, two general stores and a hardware shop.
