SMILES, dressing up and a history lesson welcomed in the Chinese Year of the Rooster.
Toddlers at the Leapfrog Day Nursery in Brindley Road, Warndon, Worcester, decorated the building with the colourful signs of the Chinese zodiac and made puppets of roosters and dragons.
There was also time to cook some authentic sweet and sour Chinese food - although the chopsticks proved a little tricky.
"All the children had a really good time, and they particularly liked the lanterns and dragons and the Chinese outfits," said Michelle Bozward.
The Year of the Rooster is traditionally thought to bring bad luck - but there won't be another until 2017.
