Cultures from around the world were featured at the annual hair and beauty event at Malvern Hills College.
First year hairdressing and beauty therapy students wore colourful costume, body paint and glitter as they took to the catwalk last Thursday (February 3).
The event was the result of three weeks of hard work for the students, who were asked to create clothes, make-up and hairstyles representing a particular country.
They were split into teams of three or four, with one team member modelling an outfit for the judges. First prize went to Stacey Brassington, Kim Kyte and Val Childs for their Japanese outfit.
"We're really pleased," said Val. "We designed and made the whole thing ourselves and did a lot of research on it."
Fellow student Natalie James, who was modelling an outfit from Spain, said: "It was really good fun and we all enjoyed it.
Course manager for hair dressing Pam Hopkins said she was impressed by the students' hard work.
She said: "They've all done well, especially as they've only had a short time to work on the project."
Beauty therapy manager Tracey Miles said: "The entries are all excellent, every year we think they can't get ant better, and they do.
"The project is great because as well as putting their new skills to the test, it teaches the students about team work and communication."
The project was part of the students' GNVQ. Competition winners received a selection of hair and beauty products.
Appointments can be made at the college salon from 9.30am to 4.30pm on Monday to Friday.
